Full Time Day Program Staff: 35 hours/ week. This position requires an individual who is able to offer support to individual's with a developmental disability who wish to participate in community activities, including but not limited to leisure and recreation, employment, volunteer positions, life skills development, communication skills, budgetting and money management, recycling, relationship building, arts and crafts, and computer skills.
Support Home Providers/ Respite Services: If you are interested in sharing your private residence with a roommate who requires support with daily living skills such as; household management, money management, laundrey, meal planning and preperation, grocery shopping, attendance at medical and appointments, relationship building, communication skills, and recreational activities then this is the position for you wheather on a full time basis or relief basis.
Part Time/ Relief Support Staff: 20 hours/ week or on call staff required to provide coverage for vacation, medical, and maternity leave.
Please note in order to attain/ maintain employment/ subcontracts with the BCSCL current Emergency First Aid and CPR, RCMP Security Clearance, Child Welfare Intervention Report must be completed upon commencement of employment. Additional mandatory training will be scheduled including workshops such as; Non Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention (NCPI), Abuse Prevention and Reporting Protcol (APRP), Positive Pratices and Restrictive Procedures(PPRP), and Medication Administration are just a few workshops that you will be expected to complete within 6 months from the commencement of employment or within three months of the expiration date once employed/ contracted to maintain employment/ contracts.
The Bow Corridor Society for Community Living has completed our recent Creating Excellance Together Survey (CET), through The Alberta Council of Disability Studies (ACDS), Clova Leir. The onsite survey/ audit took place in February 2008 and minimal follow up recomendation/ action plans were required to be completed to achieve certification. The BCSCL continues to maintain as a certified CET Community Service Provider.
The BCSCL would like to take the time to thank the individuals through ACDS who completed our onsite survey for their professionalism while on site and during client, guardian, and staff interviews. The level of professionalism experienced as a result of the CET site Surveyers was beyond our expectations and the endless learning possibilities will be an ongoing tool that BCSCL will use until our next survey which will be in 2011. The BCSCL would like to extend their appreciation to the board of director's, employees, subcontractors, and several clients who played various rolls inconjunction with the site survey for their time and effort offered to the Society.
